1st Story:
I have a friend from church, Angie, who will be "substituting" for me at work while I'm out with the baby. The family had her over yesterday to meet her and everything. I had this conversation with C today after school:
Me: Did y'all meet Angie yesterday?
C: Yeah.
Me: Did you like her?
C: Yeah. She looks older than you.
Me: Well, I think she's like 30, so yeah she could look older than me.
C: You look like you're 18.
Me: I look like a pregnant teenager?
C: No, a tubby teenager.
Me: Great.
2nd Story:
So I have this bear that I got for a Christmas present a couple of years ago. It's the one featured in Jack: The Calendar: January -I still have it out because I still have out decorations that can be classified as "Winter" and not "Christmas". So a few minutes ago I was putting laundry in the washer, Jack was sitting on the couch, and Jon was in the bedroom. Suddenly I heard something in the living room playing Jingle Bells. I walked in there to find out Haunted Winter Bear had started playing the song on its own. I didn't even know it played music! Weird and weird. The End.

American Idol starts again tomorrow! Woo! I promise not to go overboard with the AI talk this year like I did last year. I'll wait until Top 24 time to really talk about who I like. That whole writing-down-everyone-who-comes-on-screen business last year wore me out. Although it did get me a lot of blog visitors. Unfortunately there are still three weeks aka 6 episodes aka WAY too many hours of audition episodes, but there will be two weeks of Hollywood Week, which leads up to the announcement of the Top 24, which is great. We'll also see what everyone thinks of this new chick judge. It could be nice to have a sober female judge on the show.
For anyone who has joined me since last year, or for those of you who need a refresher, I will point you to my Top Ten Pieces of Advice For Auditioners of American Idol that I posted last year. It pretty much all still holds true. Enjoy the first few weeks!

I just looked back and realized I hadn't done a Funny Things post since JUNE! Whoa. Sorry about that. I have a bunch to catch up on, so I'm going to break it down into more than one post. I'll start with the ones that are already on my computer then move on to the ones that have been on my camera for months. Off we go...
This is about the fanciest street in Little Rock (in the neighborhood where I work) and that was stuck to the sign for probably two months. It was really funny.
"Product may vary from items shown... While supplies last. Offers not available at all locations." You'd better hurry up if you want one of those straw hats. You may be disappointed to not find these items exactly!Posted in: funny things, license plates on at at 10:18 PM 3 comments

They say that dogs are supposed to sense pregnancy and may become more protective or careful around you. Not our genius. Jack's smart and all, but has not at all become aware of my belly. He still jumps up on me, walks across my stomach, and acts like there's not a giant thing growing out the front of me. However, a few weeks ago, he was lying on my belly and I happened to have my camera sitting right there by me. Here's the cuteness:

This past Monday it was very cold and wet. The trees across the city were covered in ice (but luckily the roads weren't) and it was so beautiful! Jon got some pictures of the trees around our house while it was still light outside. (I get home after dark every day in the winter.)

I don't like cats. The boss family's cat is crazy. Not mean crazy, just crazy. I've posted about her before. She's alright in the scope of cat world - not one of the psycho ones. Here are a few pictures I've taken of that crazy cat.
I've showed this one before, but the cat loves my shoes. She sits on top of them all of the time. One time she seemed to want to wear them.
She also sits in the sink a lot. That's the only time I ever touch her - to get her out of the sink. (I'm allergic to cats.)
She also often sits in a way that looks like she has no legs. It's funny every time. It's the blob cat.Posted in: Boss Cat on Friday, January 09, 2009 at at 2:18 PM 1 comments
D does this everytime we leave this place. We're at a church that has large leaf shapes on their concrete floor as we're leaving. (They have a huge free indoor playground, so that's why we're there.) It always starts with "I'm dancing on a leaf..." and continues all the way to the car. I decided to tape it this time.
