Clearance!

I LOVE Target. I especially love Target the day after (and week after) holidays. The day after Valentines, the day after Easter, the day after the 4th of July, the day after Halloween, the day after Christmas...
Well I didn't make it to Target until Wednesday this week, but I stocked up on a little bit of 50% off candy and a few other 75% off things. Most things I didn't want to spend as much as they still wanted on them. Plus I figured I could get cheaper candy at Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart had almost no candy. Boo! So, I went back to TWO Targets on Thursday to find some candy. Brand new Target: Not ONE bag! My usual Target: three full aisles of candy left!
Today, I wanted to go back one more time to see if the percentages had gone up... CLEARANCE! Candy was 75% off and everything else was 90% off! Score!
So now I present, the first picture of a receipt that I've posted because I bought a lot, but...

I got some toys for my prize box at school for 10 cents per package, some gifts for people, just some junk, and more CANDY! They had packages of peanut M&Ms for 67 cents each, and there was a coupon attached for 50 cents off now! Seventeen cents baby! So yay Halloween sale!
Now, I'm off to take down my Halloween decorations and put up Thanksgiving stuff. You know? Thanksgiving? That poor forgotten holiday that comes between Halloween and Christmas? It's in two and half weeks. Don't forget!

The Time Erin Got Married

My college roommate/BFF/Los Angeles travelmate Erin got married on June 18th. I was one of the bridesmaids, along with our other roommate Gillian... and 7 other girls. I'm not going to post a bunch of pictures here, mostly because I'm still on the slow-upload train, but also because it's hard to pick the best ones without posting too many. So if you want to see my 75 favorites, go here to see the album on Facebook.

At the rehearsal dinner.

The Candy Bar at the reception! I was so excited about it!

My first bag of candy from the candy bar.

Yay! We're all married now!

They had a video guest book at the reception, so Gillian, her husband John, and I used items at the reception to make a representation of the tot we had in college (see here) to be with us in the video.

If you want to see more pics from the weekend, go here.

Little Rockers!

I figure it's probably been used before, but I thought that "Little Rockers" would be an excellent name for citizens of Little Rock. Eh?
This message is a public service announcement for all Little Rockers. It is in regards to the fact that two of the greatest things ever are coming to Little Rock very soon. We just got a Forever 21, but these are even better!
As I walking up to the Target in west Little Rock yesterday, I saw a sign on the outside of the building informing me that "Target will remain open during construction." I though, "eh?" I looked to the end of the building and saw a gated off area for future construction. I walked inside to see a temporary wall put up near the front door and this beautiful wonderful amazing sign:

TARGET IS BECOMING A SUPERTARGET!!! If you've never experienced a SuperTarget, you're in for a wonderful treat. Grocery store! Starbucks! Jelly Belly candy bin aisle! It didn't have an opening date, but it's wonderful news. SuperTarget is about the best store ever. Ten bajillion times better than that stupid Super WalMart. (Yes. This sign has the same set of four pictures on there twice. Don't ask me about that one.)

Then... I had heard this rumor several months ago and then heard it on the radio a few weeks ago, so you may have heard by now. We're also getting a The Container Store! Apparently many Little Rockers are unaware of the awesomeness that is The Container Store. Just visit the site and see just a small bit of what is available there. It's wondrous. The grand opening is March 8th and 9th:

YAY!

And... One week until LOST!

It's About Time!!!

If you saw what I said last month, you know how much I love the Easter candy, especially the creme eggs. Well, for as long as I can remember (ask my mom) I've said that they need to make creme eggs for each month of the year. New Year Eggs, Valentines Eggs, St. Patrick's Eggs, Easter Eggs, Mother's Day Eggs, School's Out Eggs, Independence Eggs, Summer Eggs, Back To School Eggs, Halloween Eggs, Thanksgiving Eggs, and Christmas Eggs. Well it seems that somebody out there started listening as I got to the end of the list because guess what's been invented. Yep. CADBURY ORNAMENT CREME EGGS! Just like the original, but wrapped in red and sold at Christmas! Sweet cookies!

Jack's exited too!

And last year they started selling Christmas Mini Eggs too. Way to go, Cadbury!

Someone Else Agrees!

I realize this was something that happened 8 months ago, but at that point in time I wasn't blogging regularly. This past Easter (or more like day after Valentines) I picked up my first package of the year of Cadbury Creme Eggs, aka Best Candy Ever Invented. I opened the package to enjoy my first one and immediately noticed that it felt smaller. Luckily, since I bought so freakin' many the day after Easter on clearance last year (as I always do), I still had some left over. They had dropped from 1.37 ounces to 1.2 ounces! That's a 12.4% drop in weight! What?! I talked to some other people who enjoy the CCEs, namely Sarah, and she was with me. I thought we were alone, but little did I know that around the same time BJ Novak from The Office was right there with us:

BJN on LN w/CO 4-4-07

He says almost the exact same thing that I just said. I'm glad I'm not the only one who hordes them. Here is the important freeze frame from the episode:

SEE!

I wrote to Cadbury to complain as soon as I realized the difference. I never heard back from them. Probably because they got millions of other e-mails. I investigated and saw this picture of what the Cadbury website used to say:

They have now changed it to this:
~~~~~
Why has the size of the egg changed?
As the world's largest confectionery company, Cadbury Schweppes is committed to developing great-tasting products that consumers love. Since people's preferences vary from market to market, so do our products. This is reflected in the broad variety of sizes and flavors of products that we offer our consumers worldwide.
If you're eating a Cadbury Crème Egg in the UK or Canada - nothing has changed, they're the same size as ever. However, in the United States, our business partner, Hershey, elected to reduce the size of the crème egg.
Cadbury Eggs remain a consumer favorite and continue to be an excellent value. We apologize for any confusion or misleading information.
So they're blaming Hershey's. Hmph. Still mad. Anyone else with me or are you thinking that this is way too long ago to still be complaining?
