50's Kid

A couple of weeks ago we had a Sunday School fellowship that was 50's theme. There is a 50's diner set-up in the children's area at church, so it was perfect for the occasion. Here's Jake all dressed up. And yes, his hair is slicked.

Party Time!

Last month our Sunday School class had a Birthday Party themed fellowship. It was pretty much for the kids.

First was the pinata. Jake's "third grandmother", Melissa, our class' director, insisted that Jake participate in everything. That was great, because then I could get pictures of course!

Caroline took some swings too.

Then there was pin the tail on the donkey. Jake won.

Then cupcake decorating!
What's going on here, Mama?

First you put on the icing.

Then you add the sprinkles!

Put on a candle of course!

Get excited...

And get ready to blow it out!

Then you eat it!

All of the kids went out in the hall to run around.
Noah joined Jake in some crawling.

Ethan thought it looked fun too.

Then, for about 10 seconds, all of the kids thought that
Jake's "Just Sitting There" idea was fantastic!

And at the end, he was very excited about his goody bag!

Christmas Fun!

I decided to have another Christmas party at the job house like I did last year. We had the girls from my Sunday School class and their kids over. We decorated my homemade gingerbread men and watched some of the old Christmas classics (Rudolph and Frosty). Here are some of my favorite pictures from the day.

D is ready for everyone to come!

We also had hot chocolate.
And now a montage of little hands decorating cookies...

Sweet Kaleigh decorating while Ethan watched.

Look at that big girl standing!

And last night we had our Sunday School class Christmas party at our directors' house. It was a lot of fun, but I only took one picture all night.
And technically I didn't take it:

A Weekend of Babies

Remember how 20 people I know are pregnant? Now it's just 18. Possibly less, since the other two due soon that I know don't live here and I haven't talked to them or seen on their Facebook. :)

Anyway, Friday, my friend Sally had her baby.
Name: Ryder Ray Reynolds.
Arrival: June 13, 7:17pm
Stats: 7 lbs. 8 oz., 21" long

A little glimpse into her contractions

Her pretty flowers

The next few are in the NICU where Ryder's hanging out for the next few days. He's doing alright. Just needs a little extra care. I couldn't use a flash, but my camera's pretty awesome, so I still got some great pictures. But that's why they're yellowy.

Mama and baby

Sweetheart with a lot of hair!

Today my sister-in-law, Candice, blessed me with my second niece.
Name: Caroline Marie Heltz
Arrival: June 15, 8:26pm
Stats: 7 lbs, 5 oz., 20 3/4 in. (very similar to Ryder)

I only got to see Caroline for a few minutes because it was late and they got moved into their post-partum room. I can guarantee there will be more pictures later.

Waiting for baby

Trying to get a family picture while there were still three of them

Mimi (Candice and Jon's mom) was finishing up her stitching for the baby while waiting.

Whoa! Black hair!

The new family. Without Alyssa Kate, who had already gone to bed.

This is what happens when you give an old guy your awesome camera to take a picture. I'll try again tomorrow. And Sally came down to see the baby too.

Our amazing Sunday School teachers, who are moving to San Antonio on Thursday, were excited to be able to come by to see the baby.

I love her already.

Little Rock moms: If you like these pictures, I'd love to come to take pictures when your baby comes. It's fun.
