Something New and Fun

Since I actually seem to have people regularly coming to my page now, I'm going to start doing polls on here. Why? Why not? Watch on the left side for polls and their results.

Today's Project

I saw this project in a magazine and had to do it. These are our light bulb snowman ornaments. I think they came out really cute. Can't say the same for my hair in this picture.

These Kids These Days

What's the deal with these giant sunglasses that they're wearing? They look ridiculous in my opinion. I used to make fun of my mom when she used to wear the giant bug-eye sunglasses, but now I'm making fun of the youth of America for following such a ridiculous trend.

Disclaimer: If you know this girl, I'm not making fun of her. I'm making fun of the trend.

Theirs Is Bigger Than Yours

I clean these people's really big fancy house once a week for extra money. They have a really really big flat screen tv. See?

(Yes. I'm posing for pictures while they're not home)

Christmas Time is Here!

Thanksgiving was the earliest it could possibly be this year. It kind of threw me off in regards to Christmas decorating. I went to get the Christmas decorations from the storage last Sunday. I put some of the stuff up immediately, but I needed to get some material to cover up whatever I was going to put our tree up on. We only have a 4 foot tree because we still live in an apartment.

Pause for story time.

Last year Jack ate an entire ornament. A glass ball that Jon's mom made us with pieces of flowers from our wedding. Kind of important. Luckily she had extras and I got another one. I walked in the room and almost all of the glass was gone and the pieces of flowers were laying there. I nearly killed him. And luckily the glass in his stomach didn't.

The End.

So now you see why the tree needs to be up high. I bought the material and put the tree and lights up and on a tiny table several days ago.
Today I FINALLY put all the ornaments on the tree and finished decorating. I also transformed our picture shelf into Christmas Shelf. Aw...

As I was capturing my handiwork, I managed to also catch Jack making off with a pair of socks. That was pretty funny. Here are a few of my favorite new, not-so-new, and new to me things that I have up this year.

Aw. Us. Hallmark sold these last year.

I bought a bunch of these super cute hand towels at Target last year. I like them. (Do you think they look alright or is it too much?)
I love this furry guy. I think he was a Christmas present from a student a couple of years ago.

My mom bought these Peanuts figurines during the first few Christmases that they were married. She gave them to me this year.

I also watched my one of my top 6 favorite Christmas movies while putting up the tree: Elf. Love it.

Ashley's Top Six Favorite Christmas Movies
1. A Christmas Story
2. Home Alone
3. Elf
4. A Charlie Brown Christmas
5. Santa Claus: The Movie
6. All of the old claymation movies

And speaking of "All of the old claymation movies," they are selling them all as a boxed set and I bought it tonight on Amazon. I'm super excited about it. So that wraps up my day of Christmas awesomeness. What are your favorite Christmas movies?

A Different Outcome

Remember the time a few weeks ago when we melted a plastic plate with a leaking popcorn bag? Well, this is what happens when two college educated people decide that the SECOND best idea for cooking a popcorn bag that appears to possibly have a hole in it is to put it on one of our glass plates: It explodes...

... into three large pieces, one small piece...

... and a bunch of tiny pieces.

Oh well. At least we have 11 more.

Songs Most Kids Don't Know

We listen to my iPod alot in the car driving to get (and waiting forever for) their sister, so the boys have learned some older songs. The last one is NOT my fault though. They knew it before I met them. I know. Highly inappropriate. They don't know its real meaning. The first one is my favorite mostly because of his rockin' out face he adds to it. And the surprise at the end. (He did it on purpose.)

Before and After

Yeah. I totally came up with this idea all on my own. Feel free to copy next year.

Favorite Pictures Part 3

I forgot to finish doing this. I started it a few weeks ago. Here are Part 1 and Part 2. These are just the rest of the pictures that I love that I've taken. Most of them are the dog and the niece.

Candice, my sister-in-law, and I took D and Alyssa Kate to the Big Dam Bridge a few weeks ago. I got some really cute pictures. Something about this one is just amazing to me. I don't know why.

She just looks so grown up in this picture.

This was on the beach next to Santa Monica Pier in 2005. It was pretty cold.

Jack and Alyssa Kate talking to each other. Love it!

This is what happens when you try to spell out "27" in candles and put them a little too close together. It was obviously very funny.

This was just a few days after we got him. So cute!

He looks like one of those big nosed dogs on cards.

This is hilarious to me!

I think was one of the first times they really met and spend time together.

Carving the thanksgiving turkey a few years ago.

Look at that vertical! Alyssa Kate is amazed!

I think this one has been on here before but it is SO worthy of being up again. Our neighbor kid called me over one day when I stepped outside... "Hey! Ashley! My frog likes cereal!" I was laughing for HOURS!

When my friend Sarah got married I became the unofficial photographer of everything. This is one of my favorite pictures I took.
