Jake has this robe. It's super cute, but he only wears it after bath if he's going to be wearing footed pajamas AND I need to cut his toenails. So rarely. But he looks so dang cute in it!

Watch out for Snooping Snoopy.

We're almost done with this business.

Saturday the three of us went to the Clinton Library for a fun free holiday event for the kids.

They had this weird roundish tree out front.

We didn't have the unlimited time like we did at the mall, so the choices were Jake looking away at me, or this one. I like this one.

Jake colored while we were waiting for the picture to print.

He also made an ornament.

Santa checked his text messages between kids.

A couple of weeks ago we were at the mall and Santa was already there. We went by just to look at him, but nobody else was there, so Santa called us over. Jake was still in his stroller, but he was reaching for me and fussing when Santa was trying to talk to him.
So in preparation for the real visit, we worked on pumping him up to see him again. We read Santa books and hugged stuffed Santa all weekend. Monday we headed to the mall with the cousins to see him. We went first. At first, I held Jake and just talked to Santa for a minute (luckily nobody else was waiting in line). I put him in S's lap, but he started crying. So I sat next to Santa and held Jake with him. After a minute I handed him off and got down on the floor under the camera...

Not too bad!!!
Then Alyssa Kate and Caroline saw Santa. Caroline was not thrilled. They took their picture, then we put all three up there. Caroline still wasn't happy, even when offered to get to hold Jake.

Jake just chilled in this one.

It's funny how little Jake has changed.

I needed pictures of Jake for our Christmas card, because who wants to see us? So I took him to a Christmas tree farm today to take said pictures. Here are the cute pictures that didn't make it onto the card:

this place is also a pumpkin patch.

I was trying to do anything to get him to look at me,
so I was singing the belly button song.
So he was showing me his belly button.

Then he ate his sweater.

Waving at the tractor as it went by.

He stopped to play a little air guitar.

He did a lot of peek-a-boo around the trees.

He fell down a lot. He kept tripping over stumps

"Hi Mama!"

He found a Jake-sized tree.

He did a little dance.

We took Santa to try to get some pictures with,
but Jake didn't care for Santa,
so Santa got a picture by himself.

There were some Christmas pig races.

And as we left, Jake checked out one of the trees.

The day after Thanksgiving, which happens to be Jon's and my six-year engage-iversary, my brother, Josh, proposed to his girlfriend, Ashley. Yes, my brother is marrying an Ashley. That means her married name will be what my maiden name was. Weird.
