Party Time!

Last month our Sunday School class had a Birthday Party themed fellowship. It was pretty much for the kids.

First was the pinata. Jake's "third grandmother", Melissa, our class' director, insisted that Jake participate in everything. That was great, because then I could get pictures of course!

Caroline took some swings too.

Then there was pin the tail on the donkey. Jake won.

Then cupcake decorating!
What's going on here, Mama?

First you put on the icing.

Then you add the sprinkles!

Put on a candle of course!

Get excited...

And get ready to blow it out!

Then you eat it!

All of the kids went out in the hall to run around.
Noah joined Jake in some crawling.

Ethan thought it looked fun too.

Then, for about 10 seconds, all of the kids thought that
Jake's "Just Sitting There" idea was fantastic!

And at the end, he was very excited about his goody bag!

Fourth of... August?

Yeah, it's been a month since the fourth of July. We got that extension cord for the internet, but it's still too slow to upload pictures in a timely manner, so I brought them all to my LAST day of work at the nanny job to try to get some on here.

There was a VERY big flag hanging up at church.

We went out to the fireworks with the whole fam.
He has a little better grasp on that flag waving than last year.

Mimi gave Jake his first cotton candy.

Mmmmmmmmmmm!

Jake and Caroline look so much alike here.
Except for the tan factor.

Excited about the fireworks!

When are they starting??

Doing a little standing practice.

Yay! I'm standing!

Doing a little walking practice with Alyssa Kate.

It's hard to get a good picture of Mimi with all four kids.

The whole fam! And we're all coordinated!
By the way, this is way photoshopped. I took out some background people, moved someone's head from one picture to another, and took words off of shirts. Yay Photoshop!

Aunt Candice wanted Jake to try on Caroline's bow.

Yay! They started!

Oooooooo! Aaaaaaah!

I figured out the right setting on the camera!

Jack likes America too. But he stayed home.

The next day everyone was off of work, so we went to
Mimi and Pop's neighborhood pool to swim.

Hey Daddy! Where'd you come from?

Jake likes the fountains.

Ooooooh... splashy.

It's fun to stand in the pool.

Hey guys! Look at me!

Wes and Alyssa Kate jumped off of the diving boards.
Also, Wes is a vampire.

The true sign of a good time in the pool: wrinkly feet.

The Lone Curl

Jake has a single curl on the back of his head. It's not in the middle, and it's always there. So it looks like a cowlick. The more hair that comes in, the more it seems it's going to have some curl, at least at the bottom. He would come by it honestly, since both me and my dad have curly hair.

16 Months Old!

We are 1/3 of the way through Jake's second year!

He and Snoopy coordinated this month.

He may not be doing a lot of things "on time," but he sure can grow teeth! Two of his four molars are in, and I saw just today that all four of his canines are coming in. He'll be gnawing on steak in no time.

This is the best picture I could get of his foot size.

He can now stand on his own for up to a minute, but can't get to standing without holding on to something. He's started letting go of things once he gets to standing. He walks around the house holding onto furniture or our hands. He's really close to actually taking those steps by himself. Maybe by next month!

The Time Erin Got Married

My college roommate/BFF/Los Angeles travelmate Erin got married on June 18th. I was one of the bridesmaids, along with our other roommate Gillian... and 7 other girls. I'm not going to post a bunch of pictures here, mostly because I'm still on the slow-upload train, but also because it's hard to pick the best ones without posting too many. So if you want to see my 75 favorites, go here to see the album on Facebook.

At the rehearsal dinner.

The Candy Bar at the reception! I was so excited about it!

My first bag of candy from the candy bar.

Yay! We're all married now!

They had a video guest book at the reception, so Gillian, her husband John, and I used items at the reception to make a representation of the tot we had in college (see here) to be with us in the video.

If you want to see more pics from the weekend, go here.

No. I Did Not Fall Off Earth.

Yes, it's been a month since I posted.
I had been out of town the week before the Father's Day post for Erin's wedding. The week after I got back was spent packing up the house. That Friday we moved. The next week was spent with no internet at the house. This past week was spent reading Eclipse as I was going to see it with friends last night.
I was planning on posting tonight, but the internet is too slow to post pictures. We're out in the country now and there is no cable internet out here. So we bought this nifty little doo-dad that creates a wi-fi hotspot within the house, but it has to be placed in the window to get a good signal. We are waiting for the USB extension cord to come in to do that.So you'll have to wait.

Soon posts will include:
Erin's wedding
Weeks 2, 3, and 4 with the boys
The fourth of July
Sunday School fellowship

So hold your breath! Or don't. Because the extension cord is on 3-5 day shipping.
Here's one picture to tide you over...
